PROJECTS
SH3 Vickers to City
This State Highway and Bridge replacement in New Plymouth involved some well-thought out TMP design and staging in an area not familiar with major capital works traffic management. Parallaxx were an important partner to Fulton Hogan to provide accurate and detailed TMP design that ensured clear and precise staging overlap (particular around the new bridge) and maintained lane availability.
SH20A to Auckland Airport Upgrade
The SH20A section at Kirkbride Road remained the last significant bottleneck for travellers heading to and from Auckland Airport via SH20 and as such, was a significant undertaking to create a grade separated interchange. The result is a continuous journey through to Auckland Airport (or just short of it) through the NZTA network and an impressive achievement of consistent travel times through this corridor.
SH2/SH58 Haywards Interchange
The project called for a major interchange upgrade on SH2 (connecting SH58) – dubbed “Haywards Interchange”. Walking and cycling upgrades, an alternative ‘floating cycle’ design and a close railway made for staging and TTM challenges that required compromise in many areas to maintain safety and productivity.
SH2/SH25 Intersection Improvement
A necessary safety and function upgrade for a busy State Highway intersection feeding the Coromandel and Bay of Plenty. The construction called for road safety auditing and site safety auditing as the works progressed to ensure a high level of safety and maintenance of traffic flows particularly in the peak seasons.
SH2 Waihi to Omokoroa
This is major safety improvement project along SH2 through the Bay of Plenty area. It involves widening of the existing two lane, two way SH. There are not significant shoulders and so working space is extremely tight. Two way traffic must be maintained at all times due to minimal alternate routes for detours
SH16/SH18 Noise Walls Remediation
Noise wall improvements along SH16 and SH18 will offer much improved noise protection for neighbouring homes and businesses. With full functioning State Highways close by the challenge is to execute this remedial work whilst impacting the high volume roads adjacent.
SH16 Te Atatu Road Interchange
As part of the western ring route suite of projects the construction and traffic staging had to be developed to work in unison with the staging of the 2 existing projects Lincoln Road upgrade and the causeway upgrade. This involved upgrading the intersection and realignment of all ramps. Additional complexity was added when the Te Atatu Road corridor improvements project started
SH1 Whangarei Improvements
This State Highway Upgrade at Tarawera involves a number of structures, service relocations and risky areas that necessitate good, well-thought-out Traffic Management Design. Sometimes the most important part of that equation (to maintain safety) is to have robust independent auditing. That’s were we come in.
SH1 Loop Road Safety Improvements
This project involves another new roundabout construction on a State Highway. This time at the intersection of SH1 and SH15 south of Whangarei. SH1 still carries high volumes of traffic, particularly heavy vehicles and we must maintain two way traffic flow at all times. High speeds and space constraints are the major challenges on this project
