vehicle management plans
VEHICLE MANAGEMENT PLANNING FOR ANY SITE OR YARD
Organise your internal traffic flow safely and efficiently with our risk-based approach.
Vehicle Management Plan
A vehicle management plan (VMP) is a system to organise your internal traffic flow in a way that balances the safety and efficiency of your operation. Any static premise that has multiple vehicles or plant interacting with each other and pedestrians – e.g. logistics warehouses, open material yards or fleet vehicle parking – needs to have a robust system in place that clearly shows how these interactions will be managed.
A VMP will use physical infrastructure to delineate plant and pedestrian movements safely. In areas where plant and pedestrian interaction is unavoidable, then procedural systems will be developed and risk assessed to ensure that those interactions are managed as safely as possible without being a hinderance. Think of it as a Road Code for your premises.
Risk-based approach to everything
We approach the vehicle management plan process with a risk-based mentality. We start first by dissecting the hazards which lead to risks and then we work through with the client the suite of controls available and which ones fit best. This leads to a bespoke vehicle management solution for each area.
There are many industries that could benefit from a VMP:
- Schools/Ministry of Education
- New builds of major shops/warehouses
- Chain stores
- Concrete companies
- Quarries and Landfills
- Ports
- Kiwirail
- Courier companies
- Agriculture companies
- Public carparks
- Warehouses
