Challenge

Construction of new culverts under Wolverton Street near New Lynn. Wolvert Street is a four lane urban arterial road that carries signficant volumes of traffic to and from SH20 (part of the Auckland Motorway network). The project requires excavating through the road to build the new culverts. Whilst still maintaining traffic flows - it is an ongoing project in the early stages

Solution

Requires working with the contractor, the TTM contractor, Auckland Transport (numerous departments) to find a solution to maintain traffic whilst also allowing the contractor to construct the works. This will be a three lane, tidal flow solution, with traffic shifted significantly to the north and south of the existing alignment. Includes use of temporary barrier systems

Ongoing project with solution yet to be implemented (they're building the widening required to move the traffic over)
