Challenge

This State Highway and Bridge replacement in New Plymouth involved some well-thought out TMP design and staging in an area not familiar with major capital works traffic management. Parallaxx were an important partner to Fulton Hogan to provide accurate and detailed TMP design that ensured clear and precise staging overlap (particular around the new bridge) and maintained lane availability.

Solution

Of particular note on this project was the need for accurate and extensive linemarking design. The project involved adjustment to a number of complex and unique intersections across the various project stages and therefore required some well-thought-out linemarking plans that could ensure continued safe operation of these intersections in temporary alignments.

Results

An excellent safety record and numerous instances of positive feedback from the public meant the methods and extent of signage, linemarking and TTM mechanisms worked well and became a blueprint for other contractors working in the area.
