Challenge

Growth in and around Glen Innes in East Auckland meant that the existing power supply was being put under pressure, and increased capacity was required. Large trenches through bustling urban areas and through major intersection meant timing and clever TMP design were crucial.

Solution

With the help from our TIAs, work on busy roads and intersections are scheduled around Christmas meaning the closures had less impact on the community. On quieter sections of the road corridor road closures are utilised with multiple crews are deployed in order to lower the time frame for each section to be installed.

Results

The project is in its final stages with significant closures still occurring utilising extensive traffic modelling to ensure minimal disruption.
