Challenge

Now a very busy corridor - the Brigham Creek Road section through Whenuapai leading to Hobsonville remains a tight environment with little room for other road user groups aside from vehicles. This project aims to change that with road widening and insertion of shared paths safe for pedestrians and cyclists. Some additional safety improvements are also planned. As with any project like this in a busy area - space is at a premium and the challenege is to complete all that valuable construction whilst minimising disruption.

Solution

Parallaxx's support comes in the form of TMP design, traffic management methodology support, and liaison with Auckland Transport. We aim to enhance the capability of the main contractor by providing technical expertise and advice to ensure the traffic management solutions utilised are the best possible ones available - and the project can progress as planned without traffic management challenges getting in the way.

Results

The project is in its early stages however signs are promising and already some strategically valuable road closure solutions have been enacted to maximise productivity and minimise overall disruption.
